Try archaeology and learn to dig while unearthing the ancient story of Carlatton cairn – a striking prehistoric monument within the Eden Valley and Fellfoot Forward Landscape Partnership Scheme area.
During this dig, we’ll teach you the basic skills that a field archaeologist uses on a dig and our friendly team of professional archaeologists will be there to guide your search for evidence every step of the way. You’ll help us to recover evidence that can help build up a chronology of the site.
The dig will take place from Saturday 25 June to Monday 4 July, excluding Wednesday 29 June. Each day will start at 9am and run until 5pm. You can book a place for 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 or 9 days of the dig. No experience is required. For more information and to book a place, click here.
