Are you 18-25 years old? Would you like to have your say in what events we offer? If your answer is yes, come along to one of our focus groups to help us develop a new event that celebrates the past industries of the North Pennines. Everyone is welcome, you don’t need to know anything about history, and free refreshments will be provided.

We are working with Heritage Open Day’s New Wave programme to deliver a new event aimed at 18–25-year-olds, and we are holding focus groups where you can share your views and ideas. We’re particularly interested to learn:

• How you would like to learn about your local heritage, history and archaeology
• What kind of events you’d like to get involved with
• How we can make the events easier for young people to join in

Following the focus group, we will be developing the event to be held as part of Heritage Open Days (6 to 15 September 2024). If you’d like to be involved in the event, there will be opportunities for you to do as much, or as little, as you have time for. There are funds to cover travel expenses for anyone who would like to be involved.
