DESCRIPTION:Plein-air North East; North East Perspectives\nAn exhibition by a group of artists\, based in the North East\, who work in the manner of a 19th-century style of painting outdoors;  a central feature of French impressionism. \nThe exhibition runs from 1 – 30 September 2021. There is no need to book. The exhibition is open when the Visitor Centre is\, daily from 10am to 4pm.

SUMMARY:Museum of the Moon
DESCRIPTION:During the North Pennines Stargazing Festival why not take a trip beyond the dark skies of the AONB\, to see Durham Cathedral in a whole new light as Luke Jerram’s Museum of the Moon illuminates the nave? The seven-metre diameter moon installation will give the high vaulted ceiling and colossal carved columns a glow up like you’ve never seen before. Experience Museum of the Moon daily\, during cathedral opening hours (10am-4pm Monday-Saturday\, 12noon-4pm Sunday). A moon-themed programme of events accompanies the installation\, including late night openings\, cathedral tours with a twist\, stargazing\, half term activities and special services of worship. SUMMARY:Discovery Club: autumn falls
DESCRIPTION:Discovery Club: autumn falls\nWe’ll be looking for signs of autumn and making autumn crowns to take home. Come dressed for the outdoors. \nDiscovery Club is for young adventurers aged between 3 and 11. It is held on the last Saturday of every month (10.30am to 12.30pm). £1 per child per session\, and annual club membership of £5. £3 per child per session for non-members. Siblings are welcome. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Booking essential \nPriority booking for Discovery Club members until two weeks before the event. After that bookings will be open to non-members. Members please check emails for the booking information.
