DESCRIPTION:Plein-air North East; North East Perspectives\nAn exhibition by a group of artists\, based in the North East\, who work in the manner of a 19th-century style of painting outdoors;  a central feature of French impressionism. \nThe exhibition runs from 1 – 30 September 2021. DESCRIPTION:During the North Pennines Stargazing Festival why not take a trip beyond the dark skies of the AONB\, to see Durham Cathedral in a whole new light as Luke Jerram’s Museum of the Moon illuminates the nave? The seven-metre diameter moon installation will give the high vaulted ceiling and colossal carved columns a glow up like you’ve never seen before. Experience Museum of the Moon daily\, during cathedral opening hours (10am-4pm Monday-Saturday\, 12noon-4pm Sunday). A moon-themed programme of events accompanies the installation\, including late night openings\, cathedral tours with a twist\, stargazing\, half term activities and special services of worship.
