DESCRIPTION:During the North Pennines Stargazing Festival why not take a trip beyond the dark skies of the AONB\, to see Durham Cathedral in a whole new light as Luke Jerram’s Museum of the Moon illuminates the nave? The seven-metre diameter moon installation will give the high vaulted ceiling and colossal carved columns a glow up like you’ve never seen before. Experience Museum of the Moon daily\, during cathedral opening hours (10am-4pm Monday-Saturday\, 12noon-4pm Sunday). A moon-themed programme of events accompanies the installation\, including late night openings\, cathedral tours with a twist\, stargazing\, half term activities and special services of worship. There is no need to book. SUMMARY:Green to Gold - autumn tapestry community art session 3
DESCRIPTION:Join artist\, Alex Jakob-Whitworth\, at Castle Carrock in the Eden Valley\, Cumbria for an art project to help us learn more about our local natural environment\, and how it changes as we move into autumn. \nAll are welcome\, whatever your ability. Full tuition will given by Alex and all materials supplied. The work created will go to make an art piece that will hang in the Watson Institute at Castle Carrock. The project will end with an exhibition & celebration on Wednesday 20 November\, 2.30-5pm. \nThis is the first online session for this project with the second on Monday 25 October\, 6.30-8pm.
