DESCRIPTION:**Cancelled due to Storm Ciaran forecast** \nJoin us for a leisurely night walk to discover the creatures of the night on 2 November 2023\, 7pm to 9pm. Find out about the types of animals that have a nocturnal life and how they are adapted to be out at night. \nThe event starting from Bowlees Visitor Centre includes a walk of about a km over rough ground and is aimed at families and children aged six to sixteen. All children must be supervised by an adult. \nPlease bring warm\, waterproof clothing and wear appropriate footwear for the terrain. SUMMARY:Drawing the Moon
DESCRIPTION:**Cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances** \nAn evening of fascinating facts\, observation and drawing of the Moon\, led by Allenheads Contemporary Art’s artist director\, Alan Smith. \nImagine you are back in 1609 with Italian Astonomer Galileo Galilei\, using his newly adapted telescope to study the phases of the Moon\, the most detailed imagery anyone had ever seen of this celestial body\, with a device as powerful as readily available binoculars today. \nGalileo drew the Moon as he saw it and so will you\, using your naked eye\, binoculars and a range of our telescopes to view the Moon through different magnifications. \nPens\, pencils and paper will be available but bring any favourite personal materials to explore different techniques to make your own images of the Moon. Aimed at adults and over 12s. \nGeneral admission: £15 (+ £1.76 fee)\nConcessions: £10 (+ £1.37 fee) Under 18s\, students\, unemployed\, Allen Valley residents\nFamily: £40 (+ £3.71 fee) 2 adults & 2 children (under 16) \nHopefully\, the weather will allow us to use equipment outdoors\, so dress up warm.
