SUMMARY:Wild Wednesday - weaving with willow
DESCRIPTION:Wild Wednesdays are activities suitable for children aged five and over to enjoy and be creative. The first Wild Wednesday of 2024 is being held on 21 February\, 10.30am to 12.30pm\, at Bowlees Visitor Centre. \nThe activity is a willow weaving workshop with local artist Jackie Carnell. Join us during half term to weave a fish mobile using natural materials to take home with you. \nAll materials and equipment will be provided. This indoor activity is suitable for children over five years old however younger siblings are welcome but do not need to book. All children must be supervised by an adult. \nPlease use the Ticketsource link to book \n\n\n\n                \n                \n\n\n  \n \nDelivered as part of the Tees-Swale:naturally connected programme. Tees-Swale is funded by the National Heritage Lottery Fund and led by the North Pennines National Landscape team in collaboration with the Yorkshire Dale National Park. \n

SUMMARY:Hedge laying
DESCRIPTION:Volunteer to help us lay the hedge bordering the garden outdoor space at Castle Carrock Primary School on on Saturday 24 February\, 10am to 3pm. \nThis is part of the school’s woodland classroom and nature connection project providing a better space for children to learn and connect with nature. It is a chance for participants to learn about historic land management practices which have shaped our landscape. \nThis is a family friendly event\, where children (accompanied by a parent) can join in\, play\, and learn. Hot drinks and lunch will be provided. \nPlease wear appropriate footwear and clothing for working outdoors\, and bring gloves. Please bring flasks with hot drinks\, snacks\, and packed lunch.
