SUMMARY:Family astronomy at Grassholme Observatory
DESCRIPTION:Due to popular demand\, the team at Grassholme Observatory have laid on this exclusive family event to educate on all things spacey. \nThe whole family will enjoy interactive talks in the classroom and then will be able to see and touch rocks from space – meteorites\, learn about space in the purpose-built classroom and then weather permitting outside for some stargazing and peering through telescopes. \nHot chocolate and radiators are available too. Bring warm clothes – it can get chilly when you are outside. The observatory\, classroom and toilets are accessible. This is a pet free event. SUMMARY:Home educators' session - Bowlees
DESCRIPTION:This is a family workshop for home educators\, 24 November\, 10.30am to 12.30pm at Bowlees Visitor Centre. The theme is earth materials. \nWe will be exploring the materials used around Bowlees and what they are made from\, and using clay for designs of our own. \nAfter the workshop feel free to stay around and continue exploring. Please note the Visitor Centre and Café will not be open on weekdays in November. \nSuitable for children aged 5 to 12 years. All children need to be accompanied by an adult.
