SUMMARY:Tree seed collecting
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Bowlees Tree and Wildflower Nursery on 29 May\, 10am to 1pm\, for a session of collecting Wych Elm seeds from around the visitor centre and sowing them into pots. \nSeeds will be sown and grown on at the Bowlees Tree & Wildflower Nursery before being planted out into sites in Teesdale. \nAll ages are welcome\, children must be supervised by adult. Outdoor clothing should be worn and please bring waterproofs and wear sturdy shoes. \nFor more information contact Patrick: patrick@northpennines.org.uk. \nThe session going ahead on this date is dependent upon seasonal variations in the ripening of seeds. DESCRIPTION:Wild Wednesdays are are activities suitable for children aged five and over to enjoy and be creative. \nCome join us on a family friendly bee walk on Wednesday 29 May\, 10.30am to 12 noon\, with local bee expert\, Mandy Oliver to learn how to identify bumblebees. If we are lucky with the weather we will catch a few to have a closer look it. You will come away with the skills to start recognising different species and some guidance on what you can do to start helping these important buzzing insects. All materials and equipment will be provided. \nSuitable for children aged 5+. Younger siblings also welcome but no need to book. All children must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult. There will be a short walk on public footpaths\, with some uneven terrain.
