DESCRIPTION:Join us on Sunday 23 June\, 9am to 11am\, for a walk along the Waskerley Way. Whilst walking\, we will be keeping an eye out for birds\, interesting plants\, invertebrates\, reptiles\, and amphibians. \nThe walk will take in views of the stark and beautiful moorland landscape at Waskerley\, County Durham. We will start with a short discussion about wildlife in the area\, the importance of recording what we see\, and the ongoing Adders Up project. \nThis event is for people of all abilities\, with the majority of the walk being on well-surfaced footpaths and flat ground. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear. SUMMARY:Adding up adders
DESCRIPTION:A one-day workshop to learn all about adders and how to survey for them. This course will be led by John Grundy\, vice chair and field training officer for the North East Reptile & Amphibian Group. Participants will spend the morning indoors\, looking at landscapes and key features for adders within them\, plus reptile behaviour and ecology. This will be followed by an outdoors session practising survey techniques\, discussing survey methods and pinpointing key habitat features. The course is suitable for beginners\, as well as more experienced naturalists who wish to develop their adder survey skills. \nTea and coffee provided. \nBooking is essential as places are limited.
