DESCRIPTION:Bring the North Pennines’ mining heritage to life through stop-motion film\, and join us for one or both days of this workshop. \nLearn how create stunning\, original animations led by north east artist and animator\, Robin Webb\, on Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 October\, at Alston Town Hall. The workshop is suitable for families with children over the age of seven years. You are welcome to join one or both days. \nWhat’s Involved: \n\nExplore the mining heritage of Alston with a guided site visit (day 1 only)\nLearn stop-motion animation using accessible tools and techniques\nUse photography\, painting\, found objects\, fabric\, clay and more to tell powerful visual stories\nCreate your own short\, animated film inspired by place\, memory\, and landscape\n\nWhether you’re completely new to animation or an experienced creative looking to try something different\, this workshop offers a relaxed\, hands-on space to experiment\, learn\, and tell your own visual story. All materials and equipment are provided – just bring your creativity. \nOptional: use your own device to gather photos or footage during the site visit. \nFree\, but booking required as spaces limited. DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the dark skies of the North Pennines at our evening workshop held at Nenthead Mines\, near Alston\, Thursday\, 30 October\, 4pm to 8pm. \nDuring this workshop you will learn how to make your own paper lantern that you will get to take away with you. The lantern-making was to be followed by a mine trip but due to unforeseen circumstances\, this portion of this event has had to be cancelled. We apologise for any disappointment this will cause. \nSuitable for children ages 7+. \nThis event is part of the North Pennines Stargazing Festival running from 22 October to 2 November 2025 – www.NorthPenninesStarFest.org\n#NorthPennStarFest25 #NPennDarkSkies \nPlease use the Ticketsource link to book. \n\n\n\n                \n                \n\n\nNo designated parking\, but drop-off near door. Not wheelchair accessible. No accessible toilet. \nThis event is not suitable for dogs. \n      \n
