SUMMARY:Star Camp
DESCRIPTION:Join our Star Camp for an astronomical weekend in Teesdale. The camp is perfect for novice astronomers and is suitable for people aged six and over. Telescopes will be provided\, along with expert guidance and you are welcome to bring your own equipment too\, including cameras (with tripods) and binoculars. There will also be astronomy themed talks\, solar observing and a bottle rocket competition. During the weekend the planets Saturn\, Jupiter and Mars can be seen during the evening and will look incredible through large telescopes (provided). The event occurs at new Moon and with no natural moonlight the skies will be at their darkest – it’s a great time of year to view the Milky Way arching across the sky above the North Pennines. You will arrive on the Friday night to a mulled wine reception at 7pm – stargazing will be available (weather permitting) on the Friday and Saturday night with departure on Sunday. Bring warm clothing and a red light torch (if you have one). \nPre-booking essential – direct with Doe Park Caravan Site –www.doepark.co.uk / 01833 650302 / info@doepark.co.uk \nPitch fees – electric £22 per night; non-electric £17 per night – plus £9.50 per person per night ‘astronomy charge’ (£8 for under 16s). \nThis event is part of the North Pennines Stargazing Festival running from 21 to 30 October 2022 – www.NorthPenninesStarFest.org.uk #NorthPennStarFest22 #NPennDarkSkies \n
