SUMMARY:Youth leader training - outdoor activities
DESCRIPTION:Are you a current youth worker/ do you work with young people who would like to deliver more activities outdoors? \nJoin this free in-person workshop with mountain leader\, Rachel Tweddle\, on Monday 6 July\, 5pm to 8pm. \nThe session will take you through the process of leading outdoor experiences for groups. This will include support with planning\, such as creating session plans\, risk assessments\, and how to book a residential. There will also be a walk within the local area. \nExamples of venues\, activities and good practice will also be shared. The workshop aims to help increase your confidence as a youth leader to deliver sessions in the outdoors and to make outdoor activities accessible for a broader range of groups. \nPlease note that the workshop will be held upstairs in Bowlees Visitor Centre and is not wheelchair accessible. SUMMARY:Wildflower seed collecting opportunities
DESCRIPTION:Help us to restore and enhance meadows and other habitats in the North Pennines by collecting wildflower seeds from sites across Teesdale\, 9 July and 6 August\, 1pm to 4pm. \nWildflower seeds will be sown in the Autumn and then grown on into plants. The plants we will be collecting from will depend on the date they set seed\, but could include: wood crane’s-bill\, native lady’s mantle species\, melancholy thistle and meadow crane’s-bill. \nPlease wear outdoor clothing\, bring waterproofs and wear sturdy shoes. All ages welcome\,  children must be supervised by an adult. \nThe session going ahead on this date is dependent upon seasonal variations in the ripening of seeds. If the session has to be re-scheduled this will be communicated to people signed up no later than 24 hours prior. \nSign up using the volunteer system Better Impact \n \n
