SUMMARY:Introduction to astrophotography
DESCRIPTION:If you have ever wanted to capture the wonders of the night sky but don’t know where to start – this is the event for you. Join Martin Kitching for an engaging talk and workshop at Carrshield Village Hall\, on Monday 27 October\, 7pm to 9pm. \nMartin Kitching\, Director of Northern Experience Wildlife Tours\, is an accomplished astrophotographer with many years of practical experience both as an astronomer and photographer. \nDuring the event\, which is aimed at beginners/improvers\, Martin will take you through the basics of night-time photography and will share with you some hints and tips to improve your after-dark images. \nThe location of this event has access to a dark night sky. If the sky conditions are suitable we will hopefully get outside and try and put Martin’s tips into practice. Note that the event will still take place if the sky is overcast. \nAdult 18+: £15\nChild (under 18): £10\nConcession (65+): £10 \nThe toilet facilities consist of a compost toilet (shared with people staying in the camping barn) above the village hall. Accessing the toilets involves a short (c50m) outside walk on uneven ground. \nBring warm/waterproof clothes/a torch (red light if you have one) and wear suitable shoes for uneven ground. Bring your camera/smartphone with you. \nNo dogs please – they’re a trip hazard in the dark. \nBook using the link to Ticketsource below: \n\n\n\n \n \n\n \nImage: Rookhope Arch (c) Cain Scrimgeour \nThis event is part of the North Pennines Stargazing Festival running from 22 October to 2 November 2025 – www.NorthPenninesStarFest.org #NorthPennStarFest25 #NPennDarkSkies
