SUMMARY:Stargazing supper – A moment for the moon
DESCRIPTION:A specialist lunar experience on Thursday 29 October\, 9.30pm to midnight\, at High Force Hotel limited to hotel guests only. The exclusive experience is designed for those who want to develop a deeper understanding of the dark sky. \nThree days after the full moon\, join the High Force team for an immersive after dark experience dedicated entirely to exploring the science\, history and enduring fascination of our closest celestial neighbour. \nResidential package \n– £375 per couple sharing a Classic Double Room (£425 for a Deluxe Room) \nYour overnight experience includes: \n– Classic Double\, Deluxe Double bedroom\n– Three-course dinner in the beautiful Garden Room restaurant\n– Specialist lunar presentation by a professional astronomer\n– Open astronomy forum and discussion\n– Guided torchlit walk to the illuminated High Force Waterfall\n– Detailed lunar observation (weather permitting)\n– Full English breakfast the following morning\n– This is a deeper\, more detailed session than our standard Stargazing Suppers\, designed for those with genuine curiosity. \nWhy this experience is different: \n– A specialist themed evening\n– Limited to just 20 guests\n– Residentially led\n– Intellectually richer\n– Part of High Force Hotel’s evolving After Dark series. \nBring warm/waterproof clothes. The walk to the waterfall will be dark and may be slippery – suitable footwear is advised. For safety reasons please do not bring large bags\, tripods or other bulky equipment. \nNo dogs please – they’re a trip hazard in the dark. \nThe walk down to the waterfall (approx. 600m) can be challenging for people with mobility issues. Mobility scooters are unable to be used on the route at night. This is just the nature of the event and is beyond the organisers control.
