In his first 15 years at the Trust he worked as a surveyor on land and woodland acquisition – trying to build the Trust’s estate – but having gained more interest in farming and the uplands he switched roles to that of an adviser working with farmers and land managers on areas like regenerative agriculture\, wood pastures and more tree’d landscapes in Northern England.
