DESCRIPTION:Discover our wildflower species and learn identification skills in Scalehouses\, Kirkoswald\, Cumbria\, with Cumbria Wildlife Trust and Cumbria Biodiversity Data Centre (CBDC)\, as part of the Fellfoot Forward scheme’s Site seeing project. \nFrom extraordinary orchids to dancing devil’s-bit\, we will explore how to identify and recognise key groups of wildflower and other meadow species in a morning workshop with Stuart Colgate from CBDC. \nLater we’ll head out for an meander through the meadows to put our new skills into practice\, take a close look\, and learn to record our meadowlands. \nAll welcome. DESCRIPTION:Do you want to do something for nature\, carbon capture\, and yourself? Join us and Fellfoot Forward farmers and landowners in creating new hedges and woodland. Come along for some exercise and fun whilst helping wildlife and the planet. There will be sessions throughout the winter and the next dates are Sunday 23 January (Scale Houses Croglin) and Saturday 29 January (Hilltop Farm\, Gamblesby). \nPlease register on our volunteer database (make sure you select the general interest Planting). Once you have been accepted onto the system by our administrators\, you will be able to see the dates in the opportunities section and sign up\, if you are available.
