Fellfoot Fables: virtual creative writing

The North Pennines AONB Partnership is inviting you to take part in Fellfoot Fables, a free creative writing programme. This project is being delivered by Eden Valley-based poet and novelist, Katie Hale. Fellfoot Fables is a project of the Fellfoot Forward Landscape Partnership scheme, we want those involved to look closely at their own corner of the North Pennines AONB – to record their experience of home during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Katie has produced a series of sessions, delivered through videos and worksheets for schools to use creative words while exploring your immediate environment. The sessions are tailored for both primary age and KS2 children but also can be used by families looking for creative activities to do at home. The following dark skies activity is something you can do together, have a go in your garden at night, uncover a whole new natural world…

Fellfoot Fables – dark skies

In celebration of the North Pennines Stargazing Week 2020, Katie Hale has produced this film to help you use the North Pennines dark skies as inspiration for your poetry. Some important reminders:

  • Make sure you have parental permission to go out after dark
  • Film in landscape if using a phone to record your poetry
  • Fill out an image consent form if you’re submitting a video entry or photos
  • Send your entries to halekatie.writer@gmail.com

We will share work produced from Fellfoot Fables on our website, social media channels and the Fellfoot Forward Facebook group.
