What we do
Farm educational visits information evening – Tuesday 21 September, 6-9pm
Farmers play a crucial role in developing a society which is aware of and connected to the food we eat. By hosting groups on farms, we can feed hungry minds, dispel myths, and make a positive impact on both farming and society in general. The Fellfoot Forward Landscape Partnership Scheme is facilitating these interactions by providing farmers with training and resources to open farms to educational visits and open days. Join us at Susan’s Farm in Houghton where we will provide information on opening farms to educational groups and therapeutic visits, and accessing funding to do so. We’ll also be sharing details of our upcoming free Countryside Educational Visits Accreditation Scheme (CEVAS) courses. This event is open to both farmers and those looking to bring groups onto farms, such as teachers and youth workers.
The event will be hosted at 145 Houghton Road, Houghton, Carlisle CA3 0LD and dinner is included.
