Celebrate Bog Day on a 14km guided walk across peatlands with breathtaking views of High Cup Nick, 27 July, 10am to 4pm. Come along and uncover the historical timeline of the bog.
Join us on a journey through time. Travel back 10,000 years to the end of the Ice Age and the formation of blanket bog. Learn about the use of peat in medieval times. Then arrive in the present day to explore how peatland restoration work is continuing to bring bog habitats back to life.
The walk is suitable for ages 15 years and above. It is a moderately strenuous walk with steep inclines. Hiking boots are required, and a suitable level of fitness to walk for 4 hours. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Please bring plenty of water, a packed lunch, and waterproof clothing. Not suitable for dogs.
