Waskerley Way railway path

This 9.7 mile railway path runs from just above Stanhope in the North Pennines National Landscape and UNESCO Global Geopark, through upland landscape to the urban fringe of Consett.

This path is fantastic for walking or cycling, and takes in industrial heritage and stunning open landscapes, while also giving you the opportunity to see some of the wildlife of the North Pennines. This is a wonderful place to spot upland birds and if you look closely you will also see a variety of wildflowers in the fringes of the path as you move through the different types of habitat.
