An interesting and varied 2 mile walk alongside the Rookhope Burn, through Thorny Brow and Brandon Walls mines and up to the fell, where you can enjoy fine views.

The Tees Railway Path is a 10km route which runs from Lonton west (near Middleton-in-Teesdale) to Cotherstone and provides an excellent way to discover Teesdale.
The North Pennines team has created a short trail marked by stone carvings along the path from Low Force to High Force.
