During this interactive online training session led by Catherine Mercer (Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust’s Bee Together Officer) you will be introduced to bumblebee ecology and get to grips with the Big 8 – the most common species in the UK. It will also cover the methodology for carrying out a BeeWalk survey and is perfect for beginners or refreshing your bumblebee knowledge.

Delivered as part of the Tees-Swale: naturally connected programme, places are strictly limited to those willing to volunteer for subsequent BeeWalk surveys. To find out more about volunteering please contact Christa.Nelson@yorkshiredales.org.uk or ruth@northpenninesaonb.org.uk. Once trained it is hoped that you would undertake 6 weekly (1hr) bee walk surveys from the beginning of June to mid-July.
