Come and join us for this family friendly event at Bowlees Visitor Centre on Saturday 13 April, 10am to 1pm, to celebrate this iconic and rare bird, the curlew.

Join us on a guided walk, learning to spot, identify and appreciate the bubbling call of the curlew. We will come back to the visitor’s centre to warm up with hot drinks and baked goods provided by the café.

After refreshments, artist Sara Cox will be leading a family fun workshop. Each family will decorate their own 3D curlew mobile to take home, using simple block printing techniques to print the feather patterns of the curlew.

Refreshments and art materials will be provided, please wear clothes suitable for art activities or bring along aprons/art shirts.

Please bring your own binoculars if you have them, we will be able to provide some for those who don’t have any

The activity is suitable for children aged five and over. The cost is £2 per child. Younger siblings also welcome but do not need to book. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Please bring suitable clothing and footwear for the weather and the terrain. We have a selection of wellies and waterproofs if you are unable to provide your own.
