Birds and Beasts, an exhibition of work by artist, Holly Magdalene Scott, is on display at the North Pennines AONB Partnership’s Bowlees Visitor Centre during May.
The exhibition of hand-coloured linocut prints celebrates the wildlife of Teesdale and was inspired by Holly’s walks and wildlife observations in the North Pennines AONB and UNESCO Global Geopark.
Holly M Scott is an Artist/Printmaker based in Teesdale, Co Durham. Known for her detailed, sensitive linocuts of birds and insects, Holly’s work conveys her lifelong fascination with the natural world.
Born from a strong connection to the land, and inspired by childhood memories and chance encounters with wildlife, her hand-coloured lino prints touch upon elements of natural history illustration and folklore, seeking to evoke hidden animal lives.
