Join us for the launch event of  the Fellfoot Forward ‘Uncovering the Past‘ project and take a journey deep into Cumbria’s past to unlock some of the hidden gems of this remarkable landscape and reveal the stories of some of the people who have lived here over the last 8,000 years. From prehistoric standing stones to quaint medieval villages, there’s plenty to discover.

The session will include:
An introduction to the Fellfoot Forward area
An insider’s view from archaeologists and local historians about why this area is so special
A short tour of the ancient hidden landmarks that you can go out and explore
A preview of the ‘Uncovering the Past’ events you can get involved with this summer – from archaeological digs and surveys of ancient stone circles, to talks, and heritage trails
Plenty of time for a Q&A to learn even more from our volunteer speakers, Ruth Lawley, Bruce Bennison, and June Hill
