Take a guided tour of Long Meg and her daughters, one of Northern England’s finest stone circles and the fifth largest in the British Isles.

Earlier this year, archaeologists from DigVentures teamed up with the local community to build on geophysical survey done in this area, which revealed some interesting anomalies. The archaeologists are back, digging at this iconic prehistoric monument, and you will get an opportunity to look at the archaeology trenches during the tour.

The archaeological dig at Long Meg is being run by DigVentures for the North Pennines AONB Partnership’s Fellfoot Forward Landscape Partnership Scheme, which is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
