You are invited to to a free two-day silk painting workshop hosted by Weardale Together, at Stanhope Community Centre, Sunday 11 and 18 January, 10am to 4pm.
As part of the North Pennines National Landscape Adders Up project, artist Anna Harding is creating two large-scale adder performance artworks for the Weardale community, to be unveiled at the Weardale Wassail in January.
During the workshop you will learn the wax resist silk painting process and get involved in decorating the adder’s body silk.
The workshop will also raise awareness about adders, conservation, and snake symbolism in world culture.
Please note the workshop is suitable for 18+. Attendance at both sessions is required. Please bring a packed lunch and drinks. Refreshments will be available.
