Have you ever wondered how pinhole photography works? Or how the silver which was once mined in the North Pennines is connected to photography? Join us for a workshop on 6 June 5pm to 8pm, where you will not only learn the answers to these questions, but you will have the chance to make a wearable camera obscura as well. This workshop is suitable for adults.
In this session led by artist Henry Iddon, we’ll make these traditional cameras, see how simple cameras work, and then using a pinhole camera will take images of the former mining village of Allenheads and process them in a portable darkroom to create 5×4 inch negatives.
