Volunteer with us at the family-friendly Stars and songs stargazing event at Bowlees Farm, nr Middleton in Teesdale, on Tuesday 28 October from 4pm to 9.30pm. This is a unique event with plenty of exciting activities throughout the evening that you will be able to participate in while facilitating the smooth and safe running of the event.
We are looking for volunteers to assist with:
- Setting up and packing away equipment.
- Car park stewarding. Directing attendees from Bowlees Visitor Centre car park to the event at Bowlees Farm.
- Supervising the firepit. Keeping the fire stoked, overseeing marshmallow toasting.
- Serving of pre-prepared hot food and drinks.
- Road safety. The event location is divided by a road. Volunteers and staff will work together to facilitate the safe crossing of attendees from the main area to the stargazing area.
- General safety. The event is held at night and it is important that all attendees, especially children, stay within the designated area.
Please contact Harry Craig at harry@northpennines.org.uk if you have any further questions. Volunteers need to be over the age of 18.
Hot soup, bread and hot chocolate will be provided but feel free to bring your own food. Please get in touch with Harry if you have any dietary requirements.
