The Fellfoot Forward Landscape Partnership Scheme worked with Cumbria Action for Sustainability (now Futureproof Cumbria) to deliver the Future Fair part of the scheme.
What do we mean by Future Fair?
Climate change and how we respond locally and globally affects the security and impact of everything we invested through the Fellfoot Forward Landscape Partnership Scheme. Future fair was the ‘golden thread’ of sustainability, which ensured that the Fellfoot Forward scheme delivered with maximum positive impact and greater security.
How we implemented this
The project assisted farmers, landowners and communities in the scheme area to implement long-term carbon reduction and leave a legacy that is fair and sustainable for the next generation. To help implement this, a series of checklists was developed which assisted people to consider the efforts they could make to ensure Future Fair delivery, including current emissions, supply chains, and sourcing materials.
The aim was to engage with the local community and implement changes to land management that conserved and benefited biodiversity, enhanced and connected habitats for wildlife, improved carbon sequestration, reduced erosion, and reduced CO2 emissions.
