Funded opportunity to work in the heritage construction sector as part of the Land of Lead and Silver contract
Are you looking for a unique opportunity to work in the heritage construction sector? The North Pennines National Landscape team has secured funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund as part of its Land of Lead and Silver project to provide a bursary opportunity in order to address the skills shortage in the built heritage sector.
This would be a 12 month placement working with Heritage Consolidation Ltd with the potential for employment beyond the bursary for the right candidate. You will be undertaking stone masonry, fixing and using lime mortars to repair and consolidate structures around the North of England.
The right candidate will have:
• Some relevant building experience
• A strong aptitude to craftmanship
• A passion to make a difference to heritage
• Safe working practices
• A full driving licence
• Access to a vehicle to be able to drive to the yard (Greenhead Cumbria, CA8 7JQ)
Monthly funded payment: £15 per hour
Working hours: 40 hours a week plus extra hours when needed
Term: 12 months
