Ainstable slow trail

A circular route of 10.9km (6.8 miles) taking approximately two hours and ten minutes.

This longer circular route crosses fields below Ainstable, follows the River Eden at Armathwaite, and passes through woodland before returning to across farmland to Ainstable.

There is an accessible out-and-back from a drop-off point by the reservoir. There is also an accessible circular route which involves a short distance on a road.

This walk is classed at hard. The route is on footpaths across fields, track and a stretch of road. There is steep terrain and you may encounter farm animals.
