What we do

Volunteering

Volunteer with us

Welcome to the North Pennines National Landscape and UNESCO Global Geopark. This special place is a protected landscape – you can help to look after this important place by volunteering. Volunteers make a huge difference to the work we are able to do to look after and share the nature, landscape and heritage of the North Pennines.

Volunteering opportunities

We have a variety of volunteering opportunities such as:

  • tree planting
  • seed collecting
  • seed sowing
  • helping at our Bowlees Visitor Centre – greeting visitors and providing visitor information
  • access and rights of way improvements
  • looking after the Pennine Way National Trail
  • heritage site assessments and recording
  • wildlife and botanical surveys
  • event stewarding

Why volunteer with us?

  • try new activities and gain skills
  • boost your wellbeing
  • meet people
