The Fellfoot Forward scheme’s Uncovering the Past project included the creation of three village atlases to celebrate the stories of Croglin, Cumwhitton, and Hayton. Our partner, DigVentures, held a short course for local communities in which people learnt to document the history of the villages and developed skills and confidence to use in future projects of their own. The three village atlases created will enhance the Victoria Counties History (VCH) project, which is already underway with local historians undertaking historical research nationwide. The atlases have been printed and are available online:
