Join us for a free creative workshop at TCR, The Hub, Barnard Castle, suitable for adults on Wednesday 17 July, 6pm to 7.30pm, to create artwork inspired by the North Pennines mining heritage.

Have you ever wondered what shaped our landscape and influenced the culture of the North Pennines? Maybe you want to learn something new in a supportive, creative and social environment.

Join Abi Baker, a mixed media artist and our current artist-in-residence, to create artwork inspired by the lead and silver mining heritage.
Abi will guide you through the process of making lino prints, taking inspiration from the Mining Heritage such as:

– Geology
– Botany
– Mining infrastructure
– Mining dialect
– Local poetry
– Wildlife

This workshop is part of the 2024 Land of Lead and Silver community arts programme. Abi Baker, of ‘handmade by abi’, is the North Pennines National Landscape’s first artist-in-residence. To find out more go to https://northpennines.org.uk/community-arts-2024/.
