Discover our wildflower species and learn identification skills in Scalehouses, Kirkoswald, Cumbria, with Cumbria Wildlife Trust and Cumbria Biodiversity Data Centre (CBDC), as part of the Fellfoot Forward scheme’s Site seeing project.

From extraordinary orchids to dancing devil’s-bit, we will explore how to identify and recognise key groups of wildflower and other meadow species in a morning workshop with Stuart Colgate from CBDC.

Later we’ll head out for an meander through the meadows to put our new skills into practice, take a close look, and learn to record our meadowlands.

All welcome. Sessions are suitable for beginners and those wishing to refresh their botanical skills. Expect uneven ground.
