Join us for a unique creative expedition as we explore Nenthead Mines and discover what lies beneath. This will be a very different underground experience, ideal for the curious and adventurous.

Places are limited for this participatory event, and attendees need to book for both parts of the event: afternoon mine tour and evening workshop.

Immersive mine tour and live performance

Venture into Nenthead Mines for an hour-long adventure to explore its history and see a live performance in the mine by dance artist Esther Huss, visual artist Claudia Sacher, and musician Jeremy Bradfield.

Group 1:  1.30pm to 2.30pm

Group 2: 3.30pm to 4.30pm

Creative workshop

Both groups will come together for a creative workshop with all three artists to explore experiences of the mine through movement, sound and visual arts in the relaxed, friendly surroundings of Nenthead Village Hall.

There will be free hot food available 5pm to 6pm in the village hall (10min walk from mine) for everyone who participated on the tours.

Nenthead Mines is a large site, so you’re welcome to stay, explore and enjoy the hot food in the time between the tour finishing and the workshop beginning or feel free to pop out and return for the workshop.

Please bring walking boots and outdoor clothes to visit the mine; please wear clothes you can comfortably move in for the creative workshop

All welcome over the age of 7. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Please book using the link below.
