What stories would the River Tees tell if it could speak?

Take part in a unique listening experience and creative workshop at Bowlees Visitor Centre exploring local stories & our connection to water. 17 August 10am – midday, and 2pm – 4pm (booking essential)

Join Northern Heartlands, artists David de la Haye and Matt Denham, and researchers from the JUST Centre for a relaxed creative workshop exploring our connections to the rivers, reservoirs and landscapes of Teesdale.

Water shapes our landscapes, our memories and our everyday lives. Through a listening activity, conversation and a creative activity, we’ll explore the stories, experiences and observations that connect us to the water, while reflecting on how our places are changing and what they mean to the people who know them best.

There will also be time to explore the current exhibition at Bowlees Visitor Centre, Creatively Connected – an artist-led programme produced by Northern Heartlands as part of the wider Tees-Swale: Naturally Connected partnership.

No artistic experience is needed, just curiosity and a willingness to take part.

This workshop is primarily designed for adults and older young people who are interested in contributing to the creative activities and research. Younger children are welcome if accompanied by an adult and happy to take part in the listening experience, conversations and creative activities.
