Join us at Bowlees Visitor Centre to discover the sights and sounds of the North Pennines AONB. Listen to the evocative calls of the curlew and lapwing as they signal the start of spring in Teesdale.

Based at Bowlees Visitor Centre, come and find us at our stall to pick up some bird ID tips and join the drop-in activities running throughout the day including:

• Hourly guided bird walks to see the rare curlew, with its evocative call excitedly bubbling through the skies, and the lapwing’s tumbling flight and characteristic ‘peewit’ display calls.
• Craft workshops lead by a local artist.
• Upload your sightings to the iNaturalist app to help us monitor seasonal changes to iconic species.

Delivered as part of the Tees-Swale: naturally connected programme. Tees-Swale is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and led by the North Pennines AONB Partnership in collaboration with the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
