Bastles, bee boles and barns

The Fellfoot Forward Landscape Partnership Scheme provided funding for Cumbria Vernacular Buildings Group to research, write and print a step by step guide to the traditional buildings of the lower Eden Valley.

‘Bastles, bee boles and barns’ has been written to increase the enjoyment of our traditional buildings with contributions from members of Cumbria Vernacular Buildings Group and the co-operation of the owners of the buildings featured. The booklet is free and available from Langwathby village shop, Penrith Tourist Information Centre, Hallbankgate Hub, Kirkoswald village shop and Lazonby Co-op or you can read it online here.
