Bowlees Visitor Centre

Three routes, varying in length from 1km to 2.2 km, ranging from 30mins to approximately an hour

Explore the magnificent Low Force waterfall, take in panoramic views of Teesdale, and enjoy the tranquillity of a route up to the wildlife site at Bowlees Quarry alongside the Bowlee Beck.

Killhope Lead Mining Museum

Flexible route, around the museum grounds

Visit this 19th Century lead mining museum in Upper Weardale in the heart of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You can take the Tramper mobility scooter onto the wash floor and around the grounds of the museum to enjoy the heritage and history of the site.

High Force waterfall

One route down to the top of High Force waterfall, 1km taking around an hour

Discover one of the most impressive waterfalls in England, following a ‘there and back’ route along a woodland path overlooking the River Tees. An easy route down with close up views of the waterfall.

Derwent Waterside Park

Two routes around the reservoir, each 5.4km, taking around 2.5 hours. These two routes can be combined for a full day out, or they can be enjoyed on their own for a shorter trip. 

Take the Tramper out around the open water of Derwent Reservoir, and enjoy the views of the surrounding North Pennines. Talkin Tarn Country Park

One route of 2.5km taking around an hour

Enjoy the picturesque views across the glacial tarn, journeying through ancient woodlands and seeing interesting wildlife along the way. This is a flat route taking you around the perimeter of the tarn. Watch the video of the accessible route around Talkin Tarn.
